Better quality in the air at home!

Posted on2023-03-03 772

The air we breathe at home is of fundamental importance for our health and this is why sucking in and expelling stale air can be useful to avoid excess humidity and unpleasant odours.

A controlled mechanical ventilation system can be the right ally to always have the best possible climate comfort at home.

In order to have healthy air in the house, in fact, it is necessary to let in new fresh and filtered air from the outside, avoiding energy waste as much as possible.

More and more nowadays houses are equipped with thermally insulated masonry and airtight doors and windows, essential for energy saving but, like all things, even these interventions have a downside.

In fact, the internal air must in any case be renewed with a certain frequency to prevent it from becoming depleted of oxygen and saturated with unhealthy substances and unpleasant odours.

Furthermore, condensation phenomena are more frequent in more thermally insulated homes and are due to insufficient air exchange which can also cause the formation of mold in cases where the humidity rate is excessive.

In new buildings, a controlled mechanical ventilation system is almost always already set up to remedy this problem: in a new construction site it is possible to install a centralized mechanical ventilation system with hidden pipes that can reach all the rooms of the house with special terminals .

A heat exchanger recovers the heat of the outgoing air before expulsion and is used to heat the incoming air, thus minimizing energy losses: therefore, before being released into the room again, the air is also filtered of polluting substances and allergens ensuring a constant air exchange and a healthier environment.

In existing buildings and in cases of minimally invasive renovations, it is also possible to install heat recovery units for punctual mechanical ventilation in rooms where it is necessary to eliminate humidity.

For example, the Pico heat recovery unit by Tecnosystemi is a product that has a humidity detector that can be set to three different values (40, 50 or 60%) depending on the desired level of humidity in the environment.

The best result is obtained by installing a punctual mechanical ventilation device in every room of the house but it is still possible to obtain excellent results by installing one in the sleeping area and one in the living area (usually in the kitchen where the air is more stale).

As in the case of centralized mechanical ventilation, punctual heat recovery units also use heat recovery systems for energy savings.
