Color and personality for your sink
For several years now, the washbasin has been considered a separate sanitary fixture that can have a different shape, color and material compared to other sanitary fixtures.
More and more frequently the washbasin becomes a real piece of furniture able to catalyze the attention of the observer on the washbasin area which must therefore be studied in detail.
The trends of recent years are many and very different from each other.
A particularly popular solution in small bathrooms is to use a metal open structure with shelves on which the washbasin is then placed.
One of the most successful examples is the Agile washbasin structure by Simas: it is a square-section metal structure with a matt black finish that is available in various sizes, starting from just 50 cm in width up to 140 cm.
It has been specifically designed to house the washbasins from the same collection and, in the 140 cm version, is suitable for accommodating a double washbasin.
The great advantage of using an open structure is that, having no drawers or doors that weigh down the figure, it leaves a continuous visual space that makes the product aesthetically lighter and, consequently, does not close off the room. In the same way, thanks to the presence of two shelves, it still guarantees the possibility of comfortably storing all the objects of daily use.
A completely different solution, suitable for large bathrooms with a representative character, is the freestanding monolith washbasin.
In this case we want to take the Monoroll floor-standing washbasin by Ceramica Flaminia as an example.
The Roll washbasin collection by Flaminia is made of ceramic and has a very particular design, reminiscent of a sheet of paper rolled up on itself.
All the washbasins in this collection have been designed by the team of Japanese designers led by Oki Sato who combines an original and eclectic creativity with the practical and functional aspect of the objects themselves.
This collection includes countertop, semi-recessed and freestanding washbasins: the freestanding Monoroll washbasin has this enveloping shape that is able to give a strong personality to the surrounding space and can be positioned both in the center of the environment and on the wall.
For years now, color has taken hold in the production of washbasins of the best sanitaryware brands on the market: in recent times, color in washbasins has reached a new frontier, coming to offer two-tone washbasins.
This is the case, for example, of the Flag washbasins by Ceramica Flaminia: unlike the solutions already seen of two-tone washbasins with the inside of the tub in white (glossy or matt) and the outside colored, these washbasins offer a diversity of colors by separating the washbasin in horizontal bands.
In fact, one color is reserved for the upper part of the washbasin, the actual containing basin, while the second color defines the part that rests on the top.
We thus obtain different color combinations, called Stripes, for example Clay/Charcoal, Mud/Charcoal, Clay/Charcoal and Matt white/Charcoal, all soft colors able to adapt to furniture and countertops with a minimalist design.
Flaminia's Flag collection was born from this sophisticated play of contrasts in which large volumes are embellished with subtle details that define the surface. The change of section of the washbasins and bathroom fixtures manages to lighten the monolithic shape of these objects by smoothing the corners and creating a captivating and modern chiaroscuro effect.
